The DESIGN CELL – THE ADDRESS’21 is an initiative from RVS CHENNAI that encourages students to practice and design during the course. It inculcates a sense of confidence in talking about their designs and the ethics of practice. The initiative is one of a kind where the institution encourages a healthy competition amongst the students.
Tahaer is an architect & urban designer with an interest in multi-faceted design. His work experience as an architect/ tour guide/ site worker in New York City gave him a set palette of skills to start work “On Our Own”. He is Partner and Principal Designer at Triple O Studio, a young Chennai-based design studio.
Tahaer currently teaches in several colleges across the city and is working with NGO’s in the realm of affordable housing and public infrastructure. With a passion for cities, heritage and sustainability, his practice has several initiatives that focus on research and projects that are inspired by improving the built eco-system through collaborations and innovative ways of making massive change through design.

As the number of architects grows we are bound to live in a competitive society. Architecture as a fraternity has its own pros &cons in the terms of practice and the external factors influence the architectural practice a lot in conceiving the design, implementing the design, timely construction, and standard of construction, etc., As an architecture student, exposure to the challenges in architectural practice is limited. The main aim of this competition is to give exposure and appreciation to the student practitioners who have experienced and successfully implemented the design in all aspects of fulfilling it.
